Experience
Dr. Joyce has 20+ years of human resources experience acting as both a Director of Human Resource for The Scripps Research Institute for more than 10 years and as a consultant for 10+ years. In her role as a Director of Human Resources, Dr. Joyce managed a human resource staff of twelve and provided human resource services to 1500 employees ranging in position from landscape maintenance personnel to scientific Nobel Laureates. Dr. Joyce has managed HR functions including technical and academic recruitment, compensation and benefits, employee relations, training and development, and human resource information systems.
Dr. Joyce has extensive experience developing and communicating compensation and benefits programs to board level executives and all levels of employees. Dr. Joyce has been involved in both a start-up of a new Human Resource department and the downsizing and restructuring of company departments ranging in size of 20 to 200 employees. Dr Joyce has a wide range of experience writing and communicating human resources policies, procedures and handbooks that comply with employment regulations.
